The Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas is an awesome place to take your kiddos, if you’ve got the cash. I spent a weekend there and we spend nearly $1,000 for three people. It was so fun, though! The GWL has an indoor water park with some seriously awesome slides and pools. There are areas for young ones and older kids so everyone will have a blast. There is a full snack bar where adults can partake in an alcoholic beverage. Awesome. The GWL doesn’t just have water activities, but there is also an arcade, a nail salon for little girls, an ice cream shop, gift shop, pizza parlor, and a sit-down restaurant.
The resort is designed and furnished to look like a big log cabin with walls made from log boards and big, towering artificial trees. The halls are complete with wood carvings that come to life and pictures and videos that perform when one of the wands from the resort gift shop are waved in front of them. There are quests for kids to go on and explore the hotel so that they can complete tasks and challenge each other with games and competitions.
In the evenings before bed, the staff host a storytelling by the ‘old tree’ in the lobby. The tree is animatronic and tells the story with a few other animatronic woodland characters. Kids love it. They are invited to come in their pajamas before they go to bed. There is always something to do at the Great Wolf Lodge and if you can catch a deal, it’s awesome. Check it out.
